Millennial gives up coffee for Lent: Experiences sufferings of Christ

Church Life

Tyler James, a bearded millennial decided to try this whole Lent thing.

“People talk about how giving stuff up came bring you closer to God, so I thought, ‘I could give that a go'”

So Tyler made the bold move of giving up coffee for a whole hour.

“I braced myself to face this task with much prayer and the support of my close friends but I never anticipated how much it would bring me closer to God.  After 30 minutes, I was shaking under the power of God and was transported to the Garden of Gethsemane.”

Tyler voice drops to a whisper, “It was like I was given a direct connection to Jesus at that time of trial, experiencing His suffering in my own body, I was like literally sweating drops of blood.”

Our reporter asked how this experience affected a millennial like Tyler.

“Genuinely, I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.  I had to drink two Lattes in quick succession before I could even talk.”

It seems that ancient church practices can affect the younger generations in profound ways.
